Muslim immigrants to Boise

Had a dream last night about adopting two Syrian girls. I've been working on Olive Branch, my second book in which Dahlia runs a refuge/home for children displaced in the war. When I awoke, it reminded me to begin the research on immigrants to the Boise area. Their presence is becoming more and more apparent, from seeing women wearing the hijab in Wal-mart to the other day when I saw a family working in a field, dressed in traditional garb and bending at the waist to harvest vegetables they had grown. It could have been a scene from the Turkish countryside. I imagine that as we settle here and have more time, I will find a way to get involved. It is a ministry I was prepared for years ago; I would never have expected this particular place or time... But God is the ultimate chess player.

HEARTSICK

Heartsick over what is happening with ISIS and the middle east in general. I think we've all started to tune out news on the  Syrian civil war atrocities and the sickening vacuum of ISIS as it sucks up the unstable areas of Iraq and Syria. We can pretend it's not happening, but for me, it is the most important item our presidential candidates can address. I want to know who is going to finally deal with what has become the greatest Evil of our time. In light of what articles like this reveal, it's hard to imagine that we can even concern ourselves with whether or not we will have a stronger economy, more secure borders or even bathrooms for the 33 self-proclaimed genders. There is a growing monster in the Middle East and it's about to explode. I don't recommend reading this article unless you really want to know the truth. We were compelled to crush the Nazis in WWII, and we ended civil inequalities with the glorious Civil Rights advocates of the 1960s, but what will we do when a mindset of religious fanaticism is drawing the crazies of the world to the Middle East and training up children by the thousands to kill themselves and others in the name of their God? This is an unordinary enemy and it has to be dealt with NOW.

8/21/16 update

This is exactly what the previous article is predicting, and it's only going to get worse as these "Lion Cub" soldiers are sent out to do the bidding of ISIS.
